The lab capabilities feature
– a 2500 gallons tank with conical bottom, a 200 mm x150 mm (8”x6”) slurry pump and 150 mm (6″) pipe loop.
– a 3″ closed loop for testing non-Newtonian mixtures in laminar flow and determine pipe rheology
– a sump to test submersible dredging equipment and industrial sump pumps
– a tumbling drum to test degradation of high plasticity clays in dredging pipelines
Tests are conducted to obtain realistic pressure losses before constructing a long distance slurry or tailings pipeline, or drilling an off shore well by testing the rheology.
